Overview The collection contains items on the American Revolution, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. Correspondence, memorabilia, telegrams, photographs, declassified Army documents, reports, newspapers, journals, manuscripts, teaching materials, and transcripts of interviews are among many things that are a part of this distinctive collection.

Overview The Edmund Pfannenstiel Collection includes wartime logs, letters and correspondence, service records and honors from his time as a prisoner of war in Stalag IX B during World War II.

Scope and Contents The collection is from Lawrence E. Osswald’s time in Hays, Kansas where he served as Corporal in the US Army 480th MPEG Company in a American Prisoner-of War camp for Germans POW’s. The camp was located on the grounds of the Agricultural Experiment Station [currently the KSU Agricultural Research Center] South of Hays. Most of the photographs are copies of pictures that were taken by L. C. Aicher who was the superintendent at the Fort Hays Experiment Station during this time. Film no....
